The United States-orchestrated blockbusters of so-called “democracy” have always been the scourge of riots in the world, Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said at a press briefing in Beijing on Wednesday.

Wang made the observation in response to the U.S.-led second Summit for Democracy scheduled for later this month, saying that the U.S. is actually seeking hegemony under the guise of democracy.
