Days after Russia termed unrest in Georgia as a plot to create tensions at its border amid Ukraine war, Georgian PM has reverberated Moscow’s charge.

‘Kyiv has its hand in the unrest,’ claims Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. He accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of trying to open a ‘second front’ against Russia in Georgia.

Garibashvili asked Zelensky to focus the conflict in his country and said that no second front will materialise while the ruling Georgian Dream Party remains in power. The statement comes just days after Vladimir Putin’s administration denounced protests in the ex-Soviet nation as a ‘coup attempt’ by the West. Last week, the U.S also tried to blackmail Tbilisi against helping Russia in dodging sanctions, using its EU entry bid.
