Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirms assistance to Cuba in the face of long-standing Western sanctions during a meeting with Cuban Prime Minister. The Cuban Prime Minister expresses Cuba’s opposition to unilateral sanctions against Russia.



Both leaders emphasize the enduring nature of Russian-Cuban relations.

Cooperation projects and negotiations are progressing positively, aiming to strengthen economic and political ties. Additionally, a significant agreement is signed between Russia’s Rosneft and Cuba for the stable supply of 1.64 million tons of petroleum annually to help the island country who is suffering from fuel shortages. The reopening of regular passenger air service between the two countries is scheduled for July 1 after it was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
