Russia is in rage ever since the West scaled back its weapons supply to Ukraine. In the latest development, Israel is considering sending Iron Dome missile defence systems to Kyiv. This has left Russia fuming, and the Vladimir Putin administration has even issued a deterrent to the Israeli government.

According to Maria Zakharova, a Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, “anyone speculating about sending any weapons to Ukraine is escalating the conflict; don’t try to provoke us.” Zakharova added that Russia will consider these weapons to be legitimate targets for Russian armed forces.

The statement was in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s remarks. Netanyahu said in an interview with CNN that he did not rule out sending Iron Dome missile defence systems to Ukraine, which his predecessor rejected outright.

Israel is mulling to send its famous Iron Dome to Ukraine to help Volodymyr Zelensky’s forces to shield themselves from Russia’s missile attacks. In an interview to CNN, Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu said that he will look into it when asked if Israel was considering sending air defence systems to Ukraine.

He also said that the U.S. had taken a huge chunk of munitions from Israel to send to Ukraine. Israel has so far made no official announcement or statement on arming Kyiv as it fears damaging ties with Russia.
