Russia has stepped up its onslaught in East Ukraine as war anniversary approaches. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the situation at the frontline is the ‘hottest’ and Ukraine was strengthening the perimeter in the South.

This comes as Ukraine claimed that over 1000 Russian troops were killed in the last 24 hours amid the fierce battles. Russia on the other hand claimed that 80 Ukrainian artillery units were struck in the past day.
