Russian President Putin on Tuesday called on the country’s main security agency to take “special control” of Russia’s border with Ukraine during a meeting with the leadership of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB).

He made the remarks hours after a reported spate of drone attacks targeted the country’s west and south.

Three drones targeted Russia’s Belgorod region on Monday night, with one flying through an apartment window in its namesake capital.

Putin also called for a strengthening of Russia’s counterintelligence, stressing that information about the defense industry “must be well-protected.”

Putin called on the FSB to respond effectively to all these challenges, act “decisively and aggressively” together with law enforcement agencies and in cooperation with the National Anti-Terrorist Committee, and use the entire arsenal of operational, analytical and other means.
