Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova and Russia’s U.N. Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia each issued statements this week condemning The United States for “lying” about its involvement in the bombing of the Nord Stream pipeline.

On Tuesday, Nebenzia spoke at a UN Security Council meeting where he said the September 30, 2022 attack on the pipeline was an “act of international terrorism.”

The Russian ambassador then cited previous comments by American politicians who said the Nord Stream pipeline would be destroyed if Russia disobeyed their wishes.

He also noted the former Foreign Minister of Poland thanked the U.S. following the pipeline attack and former head of the British Government Lizz Truss hinted America was responsible for the operation.

Nebenzia said, “Yet formally, the United States strongly denied its involvement, realizing prospective consequences of such sabotage of critical international pipeline infrastructure. They still do, by the way.”

Joe Biden’s under-secretary of state for political affairs Victoria Nuland was also singled out by the Russians who called her the “godmother” of the 2014 Western coup in Ukraine.

“However, we would not be convening this meeting only because of this,” the diplomat continued. “The thing is that on 8 February, thanks to a prominent American investigative journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner S. Hersh, we not only learned the whos, but also the hows.”

The Russian ambassador to the UN said Hersh’s reporting revealed America’s NATO ally Norway took part in the sabotage operation where divers from the US Navy “planted explosives under the pipes,” which were detonated by the Norwegians three months later.

The secretive attack was “carried out in a way that is incompatible with the goals of the UN Charter,” according to the Russians.

“Maybe, it presages a new era, in which cross-border and trans-continental infrastructure will become a legitimate target for operations aimed at weakening of some or other states,” Nebenzia told the UNSC. “As you can imagine, this would be an era of chaos and unspeakable harm to the entire humanity. Odds are huge that this era may truly come, unless those responsible for the sabotage of the Nord Stream are identified and held duly accountable.”

In an effort to obtain justice, the Russians have put forward a draft UNSC resolution tasking the UN Secretary-General with carrying out “an independent international investigation” to double-check the facts that Hersh and other independent journalists have cited.

Concluding his message, the Russian diplomat said, “If our American colleagues indeed have nothing to fear and if they do not doubt that their fellow citizen was all wrong, then the US does not risk anything, of which we will soon be able to make sure. In such case, we will strive to identify and hold accountable whoever it was that encroached on international peace and security by their actions.”

Also on Tuesday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova echoed Nebenzia’s statements in an opinion piece, writing, “The Americans claim they ‘had nothing to do’ with the explosions of the Nord Stream pipelines even though the findings by renowned investigative reporter Seymour Hersh are widely available.”

“The problem is that the Americans are simply lying,” she continued.

The Russian spokesperson then listed several instances of U.S. leaders lying to the people of the world from fibbing their way into the Iraq war to the pillaging of Haiti.

In fact, Zakharova gave a lengthy review of American politicians plundering the poor island nation.

Concluding her article, Putin’s mouthpiece questioned why Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would put his nation into a similar situation to Haiti where the West could ransack the place for all its resources.

“How much must one hate their own people to consider a prospect similar to that of long-suffering Haiti for themselves?” she asked. “So, to what extent is the US ‘not responsible’ for sabotaging Nord Stream – as much as for the assassination of Haiti’s president? Or for the vial hoax of the invasion of Iraq?”

In 2003, U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell held a vial of what he said was Anthrax in an attempt to claim Iraq was developing weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

Time will tell how world leaders will react if the truth behind the Nord Stream sabotage goes public.
