The Academy has reportedly rejected Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s bid to seek airtime during the Oscars ceremony. The Variety reported that the Academy refused to entertain Volodymyr Zelensky’s request. This is the second time Zelensky tried to land airtime at the Oscars but failed. According to Variety, the Oscars have not yet given a reason for their refusal. Ukraine’s president uses such platforms to garner support for his people amid the Russian invasion.
