Early this morning, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a ground offensive from the Sumy Oblast into Russian territory. Multiple directions were attacked, and pro-Russian military bloggers report the involvement of several dozen armored vehicles and approximately 300 soldiers. Geolocation indicates that the Ukrainians have advanced at least 7 km deep. Due to the abundance of information in such a short time, the situation remains unclear.
- In the direction of Pokrovsk, Russian ground troops continued their advance along the fields, aiming to encircle the Ukrainians in the village of Zhelanne.
- In the direction of Niu York, the Russians advanced at least 1 km to the north, taking large parts of the city around the civilian houses. Ukrainian soldiers from the eastern encirclement reportedly retreated to the north.
- In Toretsk, the Russians advanced north of the mine in Pivnichne for the second consecutive day.
- Additionally, the Ukrainians repeatedly attempted to reach the “Tendra Spit” area with several boats. The attack was repelled by the Russians. After suffering heavy losses, the remaining boats withdrew.
