Despite international pressure, the West’s anti-Russia stance has had little impact. In fact, the isolation of Moscow by Europe led to better Russia-Asia relations. The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko has even called the dynamically developing relations between Russia and Asia a “political nightmare” for the West. He said that “the modern world does not want to follow the rules of the game imposed by the West.” Following the imposition of a slew of sanctions on Moscow, Asian giants India and China have increased their Russian oil imports to record levels.
