Putin’s nuclear move terrifies US-led NATO; Russia puts Treaty with America on hold

Russian President Vladimir Putin has suspended Moscow’s participation in a nuclear arms reduction treaty with the U.S.

In his state of the nation address to Russian lawmakers ahead of the war anniversary, Putin accused the West of escalating the Ukraine conflict. He added that Western powers want “to be done with Russia once and for all.”

Putin’s decision has left NATO and the U.S. spooked with both urging Russia to reconsider its move. NATO chief also warned that Russia’s suspension of a nuclear treaty with the U.S. marked the end of Europe’s post-Cold War arms control architecture.
