Peter Pellegrini, an ally of Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico, won the Presidential elections on April 6. Pellegrini, the head of the left-wing HLAS (voice) party defeated Ivan Korcok, a pro-western diplomat and a supporter of Ukraine. After Pellegrini’s victory, Fico, a staunch opponent of military aid to Ukraine, will cement his grip further on power in the NATO Nation.
