President Putin’s recent decree on military conscription, calling up 150,000 citizens for compulsory service, left Ukraine & NATO confused. This move has highlighted the lack of preparedness within NATO, as the conflict in Ukraine has shown. And it’s a fact that Ukraine stands NO chance in this conflict. It is a harsh reality that must be faced & accepted. The time for talks & diplomacy is now. It is crucial that all parties come to the table to find a peaceful resolution. The consequences of further escalation are simply too dire. As the world watches, the stakes are high, and the outcome will have far-reaching implications for the region & beyond. It is time for cooler heads to prevail & for all sides to work towards a peaceful resolution. The alternative is too grim to contemplate.
