U.S. plotting attack on Crimea with Ukraine? Russia fumes, warns Biden admin of escalation

Russia has blasted the US after one of its top officials said that military sites in Crimea were “legitimate targets.”

The Russian Embassy in Washington put out a statement saying the US has confirmed its direct involvement in the conflict. This comes after US Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland said that the US considers that Crimea, which Russia annexed from Ukraine in 2014, should be demilitarised at a minimum and that Washington supports Ukrainian attacks on military targets on the peninsula.
