Italy is highly unlikely to renew its Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) deal with China, which expires early next year, but needs time to discuss the issue with Beijing, a senior Italian government official said.
Interestingly, Italy was the first big European economy to join China’s enormous infrastructure project, the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
One thing is sure: Italy’s decision did not happen in vacuum! It was pressured to toe the line or else!!!
