The International Court of Justice is holding public hearings on the case Ukraine brought against Russia days after the launch of Russia’s military operation last year.

Moscow has called for the case to be thrown out, saying the operation was launched to prevent genocide in Donbass. Kiev denies the accusations and demands reparations.

The hearings are set to run until September 27 and will focus on legal arguments as to whether the ICJ has jurisdiction to fully hear the case.
