Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Thursday if the U.S. provides F-16 fighter jets to the Ukrainian military, it would be deemed a nuclear threat by the Kremlin.

The announcement comes just one day after the annual NATO Summit in Lithuania where nations gathered to discuss the Ukraine-Russia war and the future of globalism.

During the NATO Summit, it was announced that “a coalition of 11 nations will start training Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16 fighter jets in August in Denmark.”

A training center in Romania is also scheduled to be used for training the Ukrainian pilots on the jets.

Last month, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg revealed Ukrainian fighter pilots were already being trained to fly F-16s.

Russia’s reason for being alarmed by the presence of the high-tech jets is actually reasonable considering they can be equipped with nuclear payloads.

“Russia cannot ignore the ability of these aircraft to carry nuclear weapons. No amount of assurances will help here,” Lavrov said Thursday.

The foreign minister continued, “In the course of combat operations, our servicemen are not going to sort out whether each particular aircraft of this type is equipped to deliver nuclear weapons or not. We will regard the very fact that the Ukrainian armed forces have such systems as a threat from the West in the nuclear sphere.”

This is an alarming statement from the Russians and should be taken seriously as most of the world agrees the war in Ukraine is not worth starting WWIII.

So far, no countries have pledged to give F-16s to Ukraine, and as recently as February, US puppet president Joe Biden declined Ukrainian requests for the lightweight fighter aircraft.
