Russia downs five Ukrainian warplanes, as Bakhmut onslaught continues

Russia continues its onslaught on east Ukraine downing five Ukrainian warplanes in the last 24 hours. The armed forces of Ukraine claimed that Russia fired a salvo of rockets 73 times amid 31 airstrikes and seven missiles that were launched by Russian troops. Meanwhile, the situation continues to remain tense in Bakhmut where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has promised to increase the number of troops. Russia and Ukraine also swapped 50 ‘prisoners of war’ in 36th such exchange between the warring nations since Russia began its invasion in February last year.
