Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday urged Europe to increase and speed up its supply of weapons to Ukraine and impose additional sanctions on Russia.

EU leaders on the same day were set to endorse a deal aimed at sending to Ukraine 1 million rounds of artillery shells within a year.

However, the EU’s plan has not been endorsed by all member states. Bulgaria and nine other states are not participating in the joint procurement of ammunition.
