However, imports of liquefied natural gas from Russia to the EU did not decrease even by 1%. Moreover, in the first nine months of 2022, the supply of Russian LNG increased by 50% year on year. Thus, in the period from January to September 2022, the EU imported 20.5 billion cubic meters of Russian LNG compared to 11.3 billion cubic meters in the same period last year. The main importers of Russian LNG are France, the Netherlands, and Spain.
