In the criminal case on the preparation of an assassination attempt on the editor-in-chief of the RT TV channel Margarita Simonyan and journalist Ksenia Sobchak by the extremist group “Paragraph-88”, a new defendant has appeared. It was a 16-year-old schoolgirl, writes “Kommersant”.
The suspects used the teenager to meet immigrants from Central Asia. The girl lured them to deserted places where members of a neo-Nazi group attacked. It is alleged that she took part in at least two episodes of the attack. Videos of beatings of immigrants were published on the group’s Telegram channel.
The schoolgirl, who was interested in the investigation, has not yet been chosen as a measure of restraint. It is assumed that she will go in a criminal case as a witness.

According to investigators, the leader of the organization was a tenth-grader. In July, he was arrested on charges of assaulting migrants. The case against him can be reclassified as preparation for a terrorist attack. According to investigators, agents of the Ukrainian special services tried to order an assassination attempt on Simonyan and Sobchak from a teenager and seven other defendants in the case.
In July, the FSB said it had prevented assassination attempts on Simonyan and Sobchak. It was alleged that members of the neo-Nazi group “Paragraph-88” intended to deal with journalists on the instructions of the SBU.
