Numerous Western countries are speaking out against Joe Biden’s decision to send cluster weapons to Ukraine, claiming their use amounts to war crimes.

The U.K, Spain, Canada and Germany all put out statements in recent days condemning the use of cluster weapons due to the dangers they pose to civilians.

Cluster bombs deploy tiny bomblets from a missile or rocket over a wide area, and though most detonate on impact, many ordnances are left to explode later, making them particularly hazardous to civilian populations.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak noted his country is bound by the Oslo Convention on Cluster Munitions that was enacted in 2008 and signed onto by 111 nations.

The UK is “signatory to a convention which prohibits the production or use of cluster munitions and discourages their use,” he said Saturday.

“We will continue to do our part to support Ukraine against Russia’s illegal and unprovoked invasion, but we’ve done that by providing heavy battle tanks and most recently long-range weapons, and hopefully all countries can continue to support Ukraine.”

Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles rejected the use of cluster bombs in statement from Madrid on Saturday.

“Spain, based on the firm commitment it has with Ukraine, also has a firm commitment that certain weapons and bombs cannot be delivered under any circumstances,” she said according to Reuters.

“No to cluster bombs and yes to the legitimate defense of Ukraine, which we understand should not be carried out with cluster bombs,” Robles added.

The Canadian government also cited the Oslo convention in a statement Saturday opposing the use of cluster weapons.

“We do not support the use of cluster munitions and are committed to putting an end to the effects cluster munitions have on civilians – particularly children,” the government said.

“Canada is fully compliant with the Convention and we take seriously our obligation under the Convention to encourage its universal adoption,” it added.

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on Friday also said her country was opposed to the use of cluster bombs as iterated in the Oslo convention.

“I have followed the information in the media. For Germany, the Oslo treaty applies,” Baerbock said in Vienna.

Even U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned Biden’s decision to send cluster bombs on Thursday.

“The Secretary General supports the Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM), which, as you know, was adopted 15 years ago, and he wants countries to abide by the terms of that convention,” his spokesman Farhan Haq said.

This comes after Biden’s own Democrat colleagues also came out against Biden’s use of cluster munitions in Ukraine.

And even though former Biden press secretary in 2022 admitted that using cluster bombs amounted to war crimes, the Biden regime spokesman John Kirby insisted Sunday that they must be used to “keep Ukraine in the fight.”

It looks as if the Biden administration is unbothered with committing war crimes in the name of defeating Russia.
