The Vena self-propelled gun is a multipurpose amphibious tracked artillery system created for the Russian Armed Forces. This self-propelled gun was designed in order to provide direct fire support for mechanized infantry divisions. Vena is armed with a 2A80 neriam gun which can fire all types of mortars as well as standard mortar mines with a maximum rate of fire of 10 rounds per minute. This gun can reach a maximum firing range of 13 kilometers with high-explosive plastic projectiles and 7.1 kilometers with high-explosive bombs.
