UN: China supports Russia’s claims that civilians were used as human shields by Ukrainian nationalists

Russia on Wednesday claimed civilians were used as human shields by Ukraine nationalists at the at the U.N. General Assembly. Russia also called for a vote later in the 15-member Security Council on its resolution which focuses on the humanitarian situation in and around Ukraine. Russia got support only from China with the 13 other council members abstaining. The text submitted by Russia was rejected.
